Microsoft Zune Media players

Zune is the Portable mp3 player produced by the Microsoft competing its rival Apple's i-Pod. Zune is the brand name that refers to the portable media player, software and also its market place online. The Zune is the name that rocked the world next to i-Pod and was sold around 3.5 million pieces all around the world within 8 months of its release. No other media players except the Apple's i-Pod has done this record.

The Zune media players comes in two variants: Hard disk memory and flash memory

The image contains the all the zune media players.

  1. Zune 4, 8, 16 - which has the body of the left most image
  2. Zune 30 - Which has the body of the right most
  3. Zune 80, 120 - in the center was the replacement for Zune 30.
The first model of the Zune was the Zune 30, which was much bigger and heavier than the other versions of the Zune. it carried a 30GB HDD with it. which was then replaced by the smaller Zue players.

Zune 4, 8, 16 are the Zune players with flash memory of capacity 4GB, 8GB and 16GB respectively.

The Zune 30 was exactly replaced by the Zune 80, 120 carrying 80GB and 120GB HDD but with a smaller body size and lighter weight than the Zune 30. Thus the Zune stayed ahead along with its competitor i-Pod.

The latest version of the Microsoft Zune was the Zune HD which was upgraded with the touch screen. I want to describe about the Zune hD in a separate post as i like it the most.

Cheers!!!
